Recognised by the Guinness World Record as the world’s largest indoor amusement park, Lotte World features a variety of fun rides, an ice rink, a folk museum, a cinema, and a whimsical merry-go-round that makes a beautiful backdrop for photoshoots. Some of the thrilling rides you should try here include the Gyro Swing, a pulse-pounding ride that spins you around in the air, and the French Revolution, a roller coaster that rotates 360° and 540°. There is even an iconic Disney-like fantasy castle outside, located on an artificial island known as Magic Island that overlooks the scenic Seokchon Lake. Adjacent to the theme park is a large shopping complex, where you can indulge in retail therapy at the department stores, get pampered at the luxurious Sulwhasoo Spa, or buy unique Korean snacks at the signature Lotte Mart.

As Korea’s largest theme park, Everland is known for its colourful landscapes and lush gardens that will make you feel like you’ve stepped into an other-worldly French village. The massive park is divided into five zones - Global Fair, Zoo-Topia, European Adventure, Magic Land and American Adventure - and each is filled with interesting activities to do. For example, at Global Fair, you can watch holograms of your favourite K-pop artists performing at the Live Hologram Theater (Global Fair), and admire structures modelled after famous buildings worldwide like Russia’s Saint Basil’s Cathedral and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. On the other hand, Zoo-Topia has PANDAS! Enough said.
The most iconic ride at Everland is the T Express, which has garnered a string of accolades - it’s world's fourth steepest wooden roller coaster, the world's ninth fastest, fourth tallest, and third longest. In other words, be prepared to scream your heads off. If you’re seeking an unforgettable experience, the T Express should definitely be on top of your bucket list here. While Everland features beautiful garden landscapes all year long, you should definitely try to visit during the spring flower festival (between 16 March to 29 April) to admire the tulips in full bloom.

While Seoul Land is the most budget-friendly theme park on this list (you can get a one day pass for RM60), it’s certainly comparable to the other two in the fun department. For starters, it is home to Korea’s largest botanical garden and zoo, the Seoul Grand Park, where you can spot gigantic statues of animals and cartoon characters. Furthermore, this family-oriented amusement park offers an assortment of exhilarating rides with fun themes, such as the Sky-X, Dokkaebi Wing, Space Cruise and Magic Carpet. Many rides here are geared towards a younger audience, so parents need not worry about their younger children missing out on the fun. Other than that, Seoul Land is also known for its stunning laser shows at night, which takes place at Luna Park.
