Kota Kinabalu or ‘KK’ as Malaysian locals call it is the capital of Sabah. KK is one of the bigger cities in Malaysia. Today, KK has emerged as a modern cosmopolitan. You can find modern shopping malls with many luxury outlets made available. We recommend a shopping frenzy at Centre Point Sabah and 1Borneo - be prepared to shop till you drop!
KK is surrounded by natural wonders featuring the national treasure of Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Malaysia. The lengthy but enjoyable trail up Mount Kinabalu is absolutely gorgeous and rewarding. A must-climb for hiking-lovers! And a state-wide favourite beach, Tanjung Aru, is a must visit during the sunset. Witness the mind-blowing exhibit of mother nature’s mixture of amber and baby-blue lights that make this a truly spectacular visual.
Just 10 minutes away is the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, named after the founding father and first prime minister of Malaysia, it is made up of five islands; Gaya, Manukan, Sapi, Sulug and Mamutik. Pulau Gaya which is the biggest of the 5 islands, is well known for the Police bay, a stretch of 400 metres of white sand that gently slopes out to the ocean - making this the perfect place to enjoy a swim in its crystal clear waters. For diving enthusiasts, vibrant coral reefs border the island, which makes this an amazing place to dive.
